Composer or sound-designer? but composer "and" sound-designer?
Asked on: 04 Nov 2008
Hello
Sending CV and reading replies from developers of many countries usually I have to point out my skills in sound-design and I have to point out I have worked like composer and sound-designer in many games. Although in the title of my mail I write "composer and sound-designer ready to work" a lot of people reply me just for music. I' m honest, I' m composer first, but they don't know it then I do a good job on sound design. Maybe the developers don't think serious someone that considers hime...

how to record sound underwater or water sounds?
Asked on: 07 Jun 2008
*Long story short, when I was a kid we used to drop things into my
friends lighted pool at night. We were just goofing around, but now
that I remember the experience from 40 or so years ago, I recall we
enjoyed the sounds and sights of the experience. One time we dropped,
you had to drop cause throwing produced a different effect, a bowling
ball held overhead from the diving board and this produced a wonderful
sound and splash (it's best if the pool is completely calm). I wonder
what it would ha...

Sound module for ISA CT-4810 sound card?
Asked on: 18 Jul 2008
I have this old CT-4810 ISA sound card with Vibra 16C chip that I'd like to get working in CentOS 5. Does any of the available ISA sound modules work with it or do I have to build one myself? I already tried SND_SB16 but it did not work (kernel compilation ended in "error building SND_SB16 module"). ATM, no sound modules are loaded according to /etc/modprobe.conf.
I have built a 2.6.18-53.1.21 kernel with ISA bus and ISAPNP support. The relevant part of 'dmesg | grep isa' says:
isapnp: Scanning...

My sounds like a GOOSE! What is this sound?
Asked on: 21 Nov 2008
OK, here is a very strange question and I can't figure this out. My bike, which is a 2000, 883, has been making a strange squeak/honk sound that seems to come from the air filter. I can hear it a little when it idles, and a lot when I turn the motor off during the few seconds it is powering down. Like I mentioned, it almost seems to be coming from the air cleaner, but I am not sure. Someone suggested that it might be a loose motor mount, or a motor mount that needs grease. But again I am not sur...
