Four shoes, two shoes?

On another thread a farrier said they preferred to shoe a horse front & hind rather than just the front. Why is that? (and no jokes about the extra income!) Especially if the horse has nicely balanced, strong, functional hooves... does it help take stress off the fronts?

Having a mad moment.
How do you put your shoes and socks on each day?
Do you do sock, sock, shoe, shoe? Or sock, shoe, sock, shoe? Which sock goes on first, etc?
I do left sock, left shoe, right sock, right shoe.
I have no clue what this means if any of you are wondering. Just thought it would be interesting for those who wear socks and shoes/sandals/whatever. Or not!
