tyre size - best on road / off road compromise?   Asked on: 01 Mar 2008
Hi there, With a 3.0 2nd generation Surf what do you think is the best tyre size for both on road and off road use? Split will be about 80% on road and 20% off road. 33" tyres with a 2" suspension lift and 2" body lift sounds great in theory but I'm concerned about on road handling and performance (and stability). In practice a 2" suspension lift and 31" tyres maybe a better bet. What do you think? All the best. Martin.

Do You Get Road Rage On Public Roads?   Asked on: 07 Nov 2008
So what do you consider road rage? Well basically it will qualify if you may utter something under your breath or possibly think negatively about a certain driver in front of you or somewhere around you on the road... and most certainly if you lash out with great vengence and anger towards someone. I can certainly say I have a problem

Neld Road/St Anselm's Road con?   Asked on: 28 Aug 2006
Is my maths wrong or is it them? The pay & display meter in Neild Road/St Anselm's Road says 20p for each 20 minutes. I worked out that 60p would therefore buy me 60 minutes (or one hour) of parking. How come then that I have a ticket which shows: time of payment as 16:20, fee paid 60p, expiry time 17:00 Have I worked it out wrong, or is that just 40 mins for 60p? I'll scan it in when I've got time and post it here, along with a picture of the tarrif on the meter.

on road or off road?   Asked on: 08 Oct 2008
well i am bored and would like to see more threads in here that don't start with "For Sale". so here goes. what is your favorite discipline? racing or bashing? why? there isn't a wrong answer just a good debate. i truly love both but i would have to sway more for off road because the tracks are ever changing and with bumps and jumps it kind of evens the field. almost eveyone is going to flip at least once so i feel the racing is closer that way. also for bashing off road is easier to find a plac...

Romantic Road forums: what are the best towns to go to on the Romantic Road...   Asked on: 16 Dec 2007
I will only have a day or two to spend on the Romantic Road. Please recommend 1) the best towns/most picturesque to visit; 2) best ways of getting there (from Munich) and 3) good B&B and restaurants on the route. off road and on road diesel???? What?   Asked on: 07 Nov 2008
OK...here goes. You can laugh all you want, but I want/need to know. What is the difference between the diesel fuel in the pumps marked off-road only (or non-highway use) and the normal diesel fuel that goes into the pickups? I have never been around farm equipment or driven a diesel vehicle. Let the laughter and teasing me commence now. I need to get a gallon (or so) of it for an experiment my cousin told me about. Sounds dumb, but I will give it a try. It is only a couple of bucks spent.

Dirt roads, on a road bike?   Asked on: 10 Oct 2008
Hi all, I have a few options for my ride home - one of them includes a few dirt sections. I was feeling brave yesterday so I went that way (and cause its light now, thanks daylight savings) and it didnt seem too bad, there were a few wobbly bits. Guessing things can go wrong pretty quick on the dirt though, are there some good techniques I should be using for riding on the dirt? Current: Honda CBR125R (hills are my Kryptonite) Future: Honda CB400 Super Four
