Starts, Idles, and revs but not high revs?   Asked on: 17 Aug 2004
Last week took the bike out for a ride and it started causing a few problems. It starts no problem, it runs but I can't get it to rev up like it should it revs like it's at about half throttle and that is it. Thought the carb might have dirt in it but no luck. Took the carb off and checked it out but all looks good. It's one of my 84 200x's by the way incase anybody thinks that matters. Any help would be great.

vibration at 4000 revs?   Asked on: 22 Jun 2006
i have a 2002 xjr1300, at exactly 4000 revs there is a bad vibration through the footpegs, it then goes after 4250 revs. it does this in every gear, the carbs have been balanced ( i watched them being done) and are ok. the vibration is so bad that any person on the back have thier feet shaken off the pegs. the bike is perfectly smooth upto 4000 revs and smooth again after 4250 revs, it has done 14000 miles. it is from the engine because it vibrates at these revs when stationary also. i have only...

Why would blipping the revs before gear change help?   Asked on: 30 Dec 2008
My understanding on changing gear with the clutch, is ... foot off revs - clutch in - gear change - clutch out while matching revs to current speed. Now when cold in the morning 2nd gear and sometimes 3rd doesn't want to go in, I end up having to double declutch and then it seems to be ok. Other times instead of having resistance to go into gear it drops in too easy with a crunchy feel to it. Once warm I get no problems. (i've changed fluid and had gearbox checked all ok) I found out this week i...

Driving with low revs! whats the deal?   Asked on: 19 Aug 2007
reason i ask is cause my friend always drives in 5th while doing 30-40mph and the revs are always sitting under 2,000rpm. He says it saves petrol which im sure it does but does this have any negatives on engine components? I remember hearing the cams on RS turbo's are more stressed at idle but is this only on certain types of motors?

At whom should the Revs throw money?   Asked on: 08 Jan 2008
The Revolution have 500k to throw at a player (http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2007/02/27/transfer_of_power_for_revolution/), and of course they have the Beckham Rule money. Robbie Fowler is the rumored target (http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,,2023313,00.html), but I wonder if that's shooting too high - wouldn't any good English League 1 player or equivalent be an upgrade for the Revs?

Help -if Parked Idling And Turn Wheel Revs Increase?   Asked on: 20 Oct 2008
(IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) ANY SUGGESTIONS DON'T KNOW IF IT'S ME BEING NEW TO TOYOTA ENGINE OR REALLY IS SOMETHING ODD!!! To cut it short i've kept some bangers running over sometime, so i am fairly good at figuring out whats wrong wit cars by driving them, and usually feel the problems before they seem apparent to anybody else! this isn't from being clever but cause every car i've had was more or less on its way to being a cube anyway! more to the poin...

63k in revs? How can we spin KITE?   Asked on: 11 Feb 2007
That's the first step in becoming a good investor: recognizing one's mistakes. I wish you the best of luck. But it really isn't a matter of luck. It is a matter of being realistic. I learned that lesson back in the 70's, and have never had a losing year since them. It is said that: "you never go broke taking a profit." But to me the words should be: "You never go broke taking a loss before it becomes a rout." When I sold the last of my MOBL on 9/20, I had to tell myself again and again: "Don't w...
