Faith and reason - Does faith come from reason?
Asked on: 16 Nov 2007
Quote: : Faith is a fruit of reason and rational thoughts.
Question: Does faith come from reason? Do rational thoughts lead one to faith?
Most non-theists and a good number of theists would deny this.

Reasons people deny God! - What is your reason?
Asked on: 20 Jun 2007
Hello!
My name is Adam. I was just surfing the web and came across this forum and decided to make a quick register and write a topic, as i saw there was quite a few god-deniers here, and I wanted to ask them (you) why you are like this.
The only reasons I myself can come up with would be that you are such a self-centred person that you do not want God to "decide" what you are allowed to do, and not to do. Maybe you are a gambler, go to brothels, a killer or a thief. I hope of course most of you...

A good reason for evil? - A good reason for evil?
Asked on: 21 Jul 2008
Another poster used this argument-
Quote: : Our moral sense comes from the knowledge of good and evil. We would not want to lose evil because of this.
to show why we need evil to be in the world.
I argue that it would be idiocy to desire for evil to be in the world for the sole purpose of being able to discern good and evil, and I for one, would happily give up my sense of morality to remove all evil from the world.
Bear in mind all the evil in the world. rape, murder, thievery, child abuse, rac...

Logic and reason - Are they based on circular reasoning?
Asked on: 26 Mar 2007
This is a split off of a point made by Clete in this thread. I shall attempt to condense the argument, seeing as the Quote: of Bob Enyart Clete used is too verbose (IMO).
Circular reasoning is a fallacy. This is the first premise. An example of this would be: The bible says that God exists, and that God dictated the bible to be perfect, therefore the bible is perfect, and God exists.
This is demonstrably a fallacy, because contradicting points could made this way, equally well: The Icilian book...

Can anyone be reasonably prejudice? - and still be reasonable?
Asked on: 11 Dec 2007
From another thread:
Quote: :
You have made your prejudice clear. How does prejudice and reason work together? Does it attempt objectivity or is it purposely subjective?
Quote: :
I think it is rather reasonable to have prejudice against codified authoritarianism. As we sit here in 2007 the superstitions of Abrahamism are two of the largest destructive forces in the world. In the United States we have a proto-fascist sitting in the seat of the Presidency maintained by Christian Dominionists.

Reason for existence?
Asked on: 22 Feb 2008
What is the true reason for existence? Thoughts? Ideas? Don't just come up with some B.S. answer like god. Oh and have reasons for your reasons, back it up.

reason-し, reason-し twist?
Asked on: 02 Sep 2005
I'm quite confused by the use of し.
It's usually meant to give a list of reasons. Or, according to my textbooks, it can also imply 'several' reasons when you only give one followed by し. Sounds nice and easy so far, and judging from all the examples I've seen up until reading the past exam for JLPT3, it is.
However, the JLPT3 past exams have some rippers, that even with a native speaker by my side, I still can't fathom how it can mean what it's translated to. It appears that sometimes し is used...

Open same song, PTLE, Reason?
Asked on: 19 Aug 2003
If you have Pro Tools session with Reason inserts, and that particular Reason configuration saved as a "song" for that PT session... can it be made to open directly along with the PT session (instead of Reason loading the default rack)? Or do I just open PT session, and open Reason song...

Reason and setting up session data?
Asked on: 09 Jan 2004
Can I set up a 24bit 96khz session with Reason and then record the Reason data directly into PT even though the Reason sessions and samples are normally 16bit 44.1? Will this affect the data transfer once I dump the Reason audio into PT? Also are there any known bugs when rewiring Reason 2.5 into PT 6.1? So far I haven't been able to convert my Redrum patterns to tracks inside of Reason...
