Should I replace Adobe Reader with Foxit Reader?
Asked on: 29 Nov 2008
What are your reviews on Foxit Reader?
Small Question: Can Foxit Reader view PDF files inside IE just like Adobe Reader?
Edit:
I was reading one of the reviews in Download.com and the user says:
"Danger: Create a restore point if you have to install!"

Pros: Unknown. In order to do anything that Adobe reader doesn't already do - better, you must install other spyware-laden crap.
Cons: Created a toolbar that would not uninstall, even after uninstalling progra...

It would be dead cool if someone in this forum (i.e. a Macrumors member or even Arn), made a slick, yet free, iPhone app centered on Macrumors.com. I was thinking something ala Twitterriffic... You know the sexy icon, with the sleek UI...
I'd do it but I don't have the skills! I could design it though
Haha! Just me sharing thoughts...
Thanks,
Ams.

M6400 - Which fingerprint reader is which?
Asked on: 19 Nov 2008
Hi guys,
there are two options of fingerprint readers to configure for the M6400.
1. Internal Swipe Fingerprint Reader [add $29]
2. FIPS Certified Fingerprint Reader [add $59]
At Dell Germany you have different versions of the reader:
1. FIPS Certified Fingerprint Reader Biometric [zuzgl. 5,00 ]
2. UPEK Swipe Fingerprint Reader Biometric [zuzgl. 35,00 ]
I wonder why the upgrade costs for the us version of FIPS Certified Fingerprint Reader differ that much from the german ones.

How can a reader distinguish exit from entrance?
Asked on: 06 Sep 2005
Hi,
Suppose that I'm using an RFID reader in a door frame to automatically take attendence of the staff. Each staff member will have a staff card with an RFID tag on it. My question is, if a staff member enters or exits the door, how can the RFID reader determine that it's an entrance or an exit? Or worse still, if he comes to the door, stay for a second and then turns back and walks away, could the reader treat this as an entrance?
