Can VLC handle correctly matroska v2 files?

Hello all. I have noticed that VLC (0.8.6a) cannot handle correctly a matroska file when this file was created with "simple blocks" enabled (MKVtoolnix). When I select to jump on the next chapter, VLC crashes! Also, when I am trying to drag the timeline slider left or right, VLC crashes again! In few words, seeking is impossible in Matroska v2 files. Why is that? Is there any workaround? When I use Haali+TCMP everything is fine of course, so I think that the .mkv file is error-free. Thanks.

Handle is Gone...WTF?

I was unable to sign in under my old handle of ~IGUANO~. And now that I've signed in under this new lame handle I see that ~IGUANO~ is no longer listed on the member list.
Was my handle deleted and I have been jettisoned or has some error been made?
Is this a handle holocaust?

crkt sealtac handle/re-handle, your thoughts?

I have had a CRKT Sealtac gracing the drawer for several years, it was bought in a moment of madness via mail order but then after getting hold of its nasty plastic handle it has only ever been used as a "spare" knife on a couple of trips. for those of you who don't know it

Saw handle grain orientation?

Any one know if there is a prefered grain orientation, quartersawn?, flatsawn?, for saw handles? How about relative to the cut out shape? As close to parallel to the direction of the thinnest part (for an open handle). Different at all for a closed handle?
