Why the huge disparity in state-to-state BK rules?
Asked on: 05 Jun 2005
How can some states only offer a few thousand in homestead exemptions
while others offer unlimited?
Why do some states allow Federal exemptions while others don't?
Why do some allow wage garnishment while others don't?
I can't think of any greater legal disparities between states except
for perhaps gambling and liquor laws.
I suspect the reason is that citizens of each state don't pay a lot of
attention to BK laws because they think "it will never happen to
them". How foolish!
Meanwhile, lobbyis...

Moria Mob AI disparity against Non Ranged?
Asked on: 18 Dec 2008
Moria Mob AI disparity against Non Ranged? Ok, not the clearest worded subject line, but....
My hunter is currently L57. My Champ is also 57, and my Guard just hit 54 last night (Mins @ 52, LM @ 51).
So far, here are a list of mobs that I have found quiet detrimental for my Champ and Guard, through No Fault of my play style, that's hardly an issue for my Hunter.
Goblin spear throwers (Gamil Flik, Silvertine Lodes) - debuff with slow and go on range. Neither Champ nor Guard challenge forces these...

"Disparity" in Legacies?
Asked on: 09 Dec 2008
Not sure what else to put on the subject, but I've noticed some rather... disturbing differences in how LIs are populated with Legacies.
First, some back ground. I have a L57 Champ, 56 hunter, 52 Mins, 51 LM and Guard. Both my Champ and Hunter have gone thru enough LIs to get a decent amount of T6 relics - every thing from simply bartering for specific class LIs, and loot drops of various LIs.
Here's some observations
Minstrel song books and weapons - Very off kilter proportion of Legacies lean...

Best all-inclusive for a couple's disparate needs?
Asked on: 24 Sep 2008
I'm travelling for the first time with my boyfriend for a relaxing, romantic vacation in Mexico. The thing is, our ideas of what this means are a little different. Does anyone have any suggestions about which all inclusive we should stay in if he just wants to relax and read and I am interested in this, but also a great (swimmable) beach, shopping, snorkeling, and a killer spa? We are seriously considering Eurostars Blue Tulum but I am a little worried about the lack of a beach on the property (...

Digital Painting: Color Disparities in Print?
Asked on: 15 Oct 2008
So, this was an issue my illustration teacher brought up the other day. A number of us are doing projects digitally, so of course we have to print them out for the critique. The teacher mentioned that it's become a problem in children's book illustration, if people color things digitally, that they have to send a print copy along with the digital file so that the client knows what the colors are supposed to look like.
I can believe that it's somewhat a problem (although I've found that art tends...

Hackettstown, M-B vs. M&E—why such a disparity?
Asked on: 14 Jul 2005
Hey all.
I was recently looking at the Hackettstown schedules to and from Newark Broad St. I realized that NJT routes Hackettstown trains over both the Morris & Essex and Montclair-Boonton Lines so I decided to see which way was faster. What I came across was a very big disparity between times, the longest being the 7:08pm train from Newark to Hackettstown, which takes 1 hr 50 minutes and the shortest being the 4:16pm train from Hackettstown to Newark taking only 1 hr 24 minutes. There did not s...

I ordered 2x Inspiron 1520 laptops and they shipped in different packages. One is 18lbs and the other is 13lb package. The laptop itself is only what... 7lb? Why are my packages so heavy and why are they differently weighted? Both are being delivered by DHL.

Soviets surrender due to Nuclear Disparity?
Asked on: 22 Nov 2008
I've been wondering, after reading AV's Cuban Missile War Timeline...
The Soviets were badly outmatched in terms of nuclear weapons up into the 1960s. And there certainly were a large number of incidents that could have triggered some kind of war between the USA and the Soviet Union.
How plausible would it be for the Soviets to recognize after nuclear weapons are being used tactically that an all-out exchange will result in some damage to the rest of the world but it will result in their own cou...

Gender disparity at NorthShore?
Asked on: 22 Sep 2005
This may be a can of worms already discussed, but after looking at the results of the 2005 NorthShore marathon I noticed something that seems rather odd. While the average participation in the race by women has averaged over 40% for the last five years the participation in the Elite, Advancedand Fitness categories is only about 20 % for the same period.
I was wondering what others skaters think about cut off times for the divisions at NorthShore, and the possibility that the unbalanced represent...
