Crikey, The Decemberists are pretty good, aren't they?
I've been listening to Her Majesty The Decemberists and I have to say that it's just great. I love the singer's voice and the songs are so cool and quirky - I really like their lyrics too. Very original.
But I don't know anything about the band. Are their other released worth checking out?

Has anybody seen the Decemberists in concert?

Is it worth dropping a few bucks during a relatively financially/time-crunched month? I respect your expert opinions like nutritional facts on something I really want to eat.

Kick *** rock and roll in 2007 (or '06) who's putting out?
Asked on: 20 Jul 2007
The only thing I've found this year is Grinderman, and thats old fart Nick Cave, maybe the new Dinosaur JR, and from last year The Hold Steady.
Who's making great kick *** albums these days?
Don't tell Me Arcade Fire or Decemberists, while they are good they are more artsy fartsy to me.

Any Indie fans here?
Asked on: 03 Mar 2008
I'm a big fan of Rilo Kiley and The Decemberists myself. They're the more popular indie, if there is such a thing. I'd like to hear some more awesome indie, if anyone here's got any to suggest for this raving indie fan. =D

Best Decemberists album?
Asked on: 25 May 2007
Maybe because I only got it recently, but I'd say Castaways and Cutouts. With Her Majesty a close second.
Grace Cathedral Hill and Here I Dreamt I Was An Architect are ridiculously good songs.

Any other Decemberists fans here?

Discuss!
I just got "Picareqsue" and have been playing it to death. It is amazing--a group that combines the most offbeat, odd but yet moving lyrics with truly original and intriguing music. I'm *hopefully* going to see them in concert next month--praying and hoping that my manager lets me take a night off! I really want to see the video for "16 Military wives", but my computer is revolting against me at the moment.
Anyone else a fan?
