how can I get my new plugin complied with cygwin? Asked on: 02 Jun 2004
I am developing a new plugin for vlc under windows 2000.My plugin and its library files are complied using Visual c++, but the vlc source code is complied with cygwin. So the plugin cannot work. How can I get my plugin , especially the library files complied in cygwin? It seems very difficult to write a makefile for each library.

1st. SDK = Sony Development Kit while XDK = Xbox Development Kit 2nd. Both are 'legal' and free last time I checked. 3rd. Here is my question to those Cygwin 'enthusiastics': I have the OpenXDK, its all in one folder, ya da ya da, now.... How could I set Cygwin up to comply for the XDK along with SDK? Cygwin and which version of gcc? Asked on: 12 Nov 2007
Hello, Cygwin has updated to gcc 3.4 as a default a while ago (after bug fixes were put in, some prompted by Root users). On your download page, you say that the binaries are built with gcc 3.3. Is this a mistake or is it really build with 3.3 and not 3.4? If you are using 3.3, why? Thanks, Charles

Cygwin for Linux? Asked on: 20 Feb 2004
I have Cygwin installed on my Windows machine so I can access the X environment (CS account), however I was wondering if there is a program out there that does the same thing Cygwin does (in particular launching X environment) under LInux? I'm running a Gentoo box if that helps any.

how long will it take with a 56k modem to completly download and install cygwin using dial up? anyone here try it before? my speed is usually 24kbps with download usually at 2.0kb,, will this be an overnight thing, or like 2 days, or an hour or so?

I know there is a topic on Cygwin a few spaces down, but it's two years old and is just about tcsh logins. I can't seem to run Houdini or compile HDK using cygwin. If I run under bash, I'm getting some sort of path error. I get a message "Couldn't open file: hkey6.5.100/hkey.ui" (running a somewhat old version of houdini on this machine).
