Just now I see that President Bush is going to ask for another $100B for 2007 and $145B in 2008 to fund our (whatever adjective you want to use) in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
Why do no politicians have the courage to suggest a real investment in infrastructure here where we can fund thousands of real jobs and build a system that is fuel efficient, not dependent on oil prices, fast, and reliable? The gobs of money that we are expending over there will bring little or no return on our invest...

So I can't help myself and weather be d@mned I've had the boatin the water a few times now. Awsome. Anyway, shallow water here (Missouri River, below Ft Peck Dam) is the norm, and the bottom is a fine, heavy sand. I can't tell if or how much sand I am pumping (I'm stirring mud constantly), but one can assume I will run a lot of sand through the pump at some point (loading and unloading for example). What is this going to do to the 212? Excessive wear? Plugging? Should I be more careful, or not w...

Could I have a virus, error or could my OS be dying?

Every so often the light on my floppy disk drive comes on even though there's no disk in it. sometimes my computer acts strange. I don't know if there's an error, a virus or my OS is on its way out. I am using Avira AntiVir and haven't had any alerts apart from a false alarm for Hidden Relics as soon as I turned my computer on today. Also I keep running low on virtual memory and have to restart because closing programmes tends not to help but that is probably a memory issue. One thing though is...
