$5.99 for a comic book?

Well, I was visiting the local newsstand this past weekend and I decided to browse the comic book racks (browse only not buying). I was absolutely floored when I saw some Marvel books priced at $5.99, is this what the comic book hobby is coming to? $6 for ONE comic book? I did notice most monthly books were $2.99 each but quite a few were $3.99 and even higher! Are people honestly paying this much for a comic book? I no longer go to the LCS in this area so I have no idea what is going on. To me...

Could the comic book world die?

Sorry if this is in the wrong place i look but had know idea where to post this. anyways, in ya'lls opinion do ya'll think that comic book companys could get closed down and there would be no more comics. To me thats hell on earth, yes i love my comic books that much. I'm quite curious what ya'll think with people saying they are droping marvel books cause of the price increase ( to some degree i think when people say that there lying) so what ya'lls opinion just curious.

Does Dvdaf Want Digital Comic Book Dvds Listed?

There are about 21 digital comic book DVD's and none of them are in the lists as far as I can tell. I was wondering if this was because nobody has entered them in or if they were not wanted. I will submit them later on if I know it is OK, but I do not have access to mine right now, so I cannot give a full profile and if I did there would be no scans of cover art.

Evil comic books?

I am a fan of the Japanese style comic books, or manga.
I like the story elements of Love Hina and Negima by Ken Akamtsu. On the downside, they include nudity.
Does this cross the line or am I okay reading it just to follow the plot (provided the plot itself is not evil; but that is a whole other argument)?

Comic Book Art...Does anyone take it serioulsy?

I love comic books-especially stuff from the 60's. I sometimes wonder if the art is taken serioulsy. There have been some great artists through the years that have drawn for them such as Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and Jim Steranko.
Any comments?
