Do you pay for censorship when ship with borderlinx?
Asked on: 20 Aug 2008
This is the first time I ship DVD from US with Borderlinx/DHL. And when I called them asking about my shipment last week, I was told my package was sent for censorship.
Today I got a note while I was not home which says I need to pay 20+ dollars for censorship.
I always ship with vpost and never paid for censorship, so this is quite strange to me. So does DHL send every package contains DVD for censorship? And why I need to pay with borderlinx but not with vpost?
If this is the case, I will neve...

Are you for or against censorship in games?
Asked on: 25 Jul 2007
I know deep question, but we need more involved topics here.
Are you for or against censorship in games? It's coming. That whole Mind Quiz/Mario Party 8 "spastic" thing led to pretty big consequences for the developers of the games.
However, more serious offenses, like Hot Coffee, are out there stirring the pot.
So, can you have it both ways? Can some stuff be censored while other stuff gets through? Who decides? Right now, it's the ESRB and the developers, and neither is as responsible as some...

internet censorship by the west?
Asked on: 23 Mar 2008
My friends told me that they could not access news iterms about Tibet unrest on those main Chinese websites. They suggested that it was due to the internet censorship by the UK. At the firs I did not believe it. But I may have to agree to it.
I could not access those news iterms as well.
When I clicked on the specific news iterm, the following is what I got

What is truth? -it is certainly not censorship now, is it?
Asked on: 19 Nov 2008
I think I asked a question along that line -i don't remember exactly how I phrased it, and I come back the qustion to read responses, it's gone.
My question was in reference to the Kakoutis opinions I read in this website:

I guess now I have an entirely new question. How do you carry on a conversation on the Internet when posts are indiscriminantly erased?
Is this type of censorship what philosophy is all about?

Censorship for who?
Asked on: 18 Sep 2002
Censorship for who? Why did you remove my thread? Who are you trying to protect? Did somthing get said that was so bad that the WHOLE THREAD had to be removed? Is there any reason why I wasn't told about this first?
Futhermore, unless this thread is removed too, will Arc even see this? Did Peter ask for it to be removed? Did TAD ask? Did Spudman?
Would you be removing this thread so quickly if it was you who got screwed on a flashlight? [img]images/icons/confuse...

Censorship: When is it acceptable?
Asked on: 01 Jan 2009
What a better way to kick off the New Year than with a debate on censorship? (I figured that this topic isn't significant or political enough for anything more than a calm debate, something the forumers have managed to sustain with far more controversial topics. But if this is to political or riles to many people, feel free to lock it Mods.)
This topic is not based on any particular issue, just simple curiosity; at what point is censorship acceptable (what should the Government have the right to...

From the article here:
Franklin County student claims work was censored
The article also includes the opinion piece.
Note: this work was presented as OPINION, so let's try to hold to 'censorship of opinion', and not veracity of the opinion...
Seems a student's opinion piece was rejected by his Principal because:
