Can't leave and can't stay. Advice?

I'll cut right to the chase and try to skip the dramatics. My 28 year old fiance has been unemployed for almost 4 years. I have to be fair to him, it's not for lack of trying--he's sent hundreds and probably thousands of resumes in this time, actually went to school and got a degree, tried to enter several careers, but so far the most he's been able to achieve is minimum wage mcdonalds type jobs--and between gas, a car to get there, etc. it's almost not even worth it.

Can't understand FLICKR?

So basically it looks like every three posts there is a disappointed newbie saying Why my images don't show up in searches?
Needless to say I am also new to Flick and what I did was to purchase a Pro account, upload 300+ pics (spent two evenings tagging them), only to find out later, reading the various helps and FAQ, that it might take a few days (but in reality it is apparently weeks) for them to show up in searches because the account has to be "reviewed". VERY disappointing indeed, no views...

just downloaded FZ; can't use it to uplaod files to my site?

I just downloaded filezilla for windows and tried to use it. It brought up my files on my FTP storage site and
I could rename files, both locally and on the FTP site. But I could not upload a file from local site to FTP site. Got an error message: 220 this is a private system, no anomomous logins
then 421 can't accept more than one connection to same server.
Why can't I upload my files?

Why can't I invite photos to a group?

I have not ever administered any groups with this account. There is nothing uploaded to it. Now, I just created a group and for whatever reason, I am not able to invite anything to it. Anyone have any idea why I can't invite to it? This is the group:
