What's correct or illegal with breaks & lunch breaks?
Asked on: 03 Jul 2008
I've worked with a team of merchandisers and 15 min. breaks were at the end of 2 hrs., then a lunch break 30 mins., another 15 mins after two hrs.
How are breaks worked as an Independent Contractor for assignments 6-16 hrs? Would the 15 min. breaks be included in the scheduled hrs., as with a paid employee?
I know lunch periods are not paid so I would add lunch time to the scheduled time. The truth is I dont ALWAYS stop for lunch.
Including in the scheduled time is: Time allowed for assignment...

'All the Breaks' sample CD, anyone got this?
Asked on: 15 Apr 2007
'All the Breaks' sample CD, anyone got this?
Anyone got this one or know where I can get it in the UK?
All the Breaks CD
No doubt most people have already got all the breaks but sampled from original vinyl is the key thing here, no CDs, no shitty Ultimate Breaks versions
Given that it's all unlicenced samples anyway, I'd be more than happy to grab a torrent of this one if anyone's got a link

Hollyoaks: a second breaks?
Asked on: 15 Nov 2008
Usually watched Neighbours on Fiver at 7:00pm (normally watch Neighbours on Five) and I am surprised to see it had 2 ad breaks!!! For a 22 minute programme to have 2 ad breaks is a joke!!
Its annoying!
How long until Hollyoaks adopt this approach and have 2 commerical breaks?

Electro Breaks Artists?
Asked on: 14 Sep 2008
Hey guys, i'm looking to get into spinning some breaks, and was wondering if anyone had any names for some killer Electro Breaks. Now when I say electro breaks i must make a distinction. I don't mean "Electro House" Breaks, but rather that classic sound of 808, 909 and sometimes a 303, cowbell, and the like...
a good example of what i'm looking for would be a song by The Advent from the album Time Trap Technik called Wasper.
any ideas?

Ableton producers - how are you warping your unprocessed funk breaks?
Asked on: 26 Dec 2008
Ableton producers - how are you warping your unprocessed funk breaks? One of the things I'm weaning myself off of is using processed breaks and going back to the classics. The problem is that even when I drop warp markers on all the beats and warp, the break is all sorts of trainwrecking when layering it with other processed breaks. (I'm a/b the processed break vs the funk break to get the warp correct).
What I end up doing is chopping individual hits from say, James Brown Funky Drummer instead...
