Socket 754 motherboard for turion 64 cpu?

Hello all.
I am in the process of designing a new PC build. I am building a silent (well, quiet anyway) design. I am considering using a socket 754 Turion 64 CPU as they give out little heat and a big heatsink with no fan will suffice. (plus im on a tight budget & they are cheap as chips!)
Anyone know of a half decent socket 754 mobo that will allow cpu voltage to be manually adjusted in bios? Prefferably an all-in-one board.

Can AMD 64 x2 Turion mobile technology tl-50 run any Linux distro?

I'm running a laptop with
AMD 64 x2 Turion mobile technology tl-50
2GB Ram
I'm new to Linux and thought I'd try to dual boot with my WinXP Pro. I have tried installing Ubuntu 8.1, Mint 5, Xubuntu 8.1, and lastly OpenSUSE 11.0... all 64bit versions. I keep downloading and they keep failing.
Usually the install would just give me a black screen and then my system would hang. But the last ones I tried (Xubuntu and OpenSUSE) failed and gave me the message "Aperature beyond 4GB. Ignoring".

2300 Series Turion 64 X2 TL-50 800mhz?

I've been trying to fix this problem since I upgraded to Vista. My cpu core's only run at 800mhz regardless of what I try to do. I've tried the amd drivers, didn't work. I tried the rmclock 225 app and that didn't work either after following the instructions on their site.

HP DV2310us Turion X2- Successful Install Anyone?

Hey all,
I have this HP DV2310us laptop with an AMD Turion X2 & NForce chipset. I have tried installing ever distro from 10.4.6 to 10.5.4 without success. I have injected MeDevil's newest Nforce kexts, NATIT.kext, & the 9.4 kernel in IDeneb's 10.5.4 release, and I still cant get this to work. I can now see and partition my SATA Hard drive, Install the OS, but it just gets stuck in a reboot loop after the install. I have tried -legacy, -s, -x, -v, -f, etc but with the same results. Which performs better Intel Core Duo or the AMD Turion X2 Dual Core?
THAT, is the $64,000 question, isn't it?
The simple answer is the AMD Turion X2 (hereafter (TuX2) is faster than the Core Duo.
The Intel Core 2 Duo (hereafter; C2D), is mostly faster than the TuX2.
BUT, here is the thing, the Core 2 Duo is almost too powerful, what does that mean?
Well, I have found with my benchmarks that for gaming, the C2D doesn't do much more than a Core Duo if you have less than a 7800 class GPU. Turns out...

AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-56 Problem?

Hello all,
My girlfriends laptop seems to be running quite laggy recently and its getting really hot, so I decided to run CPU-Z to see if there was any abnormalities, and as you can see in screenshot the core speed is running at 803mhz? No way is that right or is it just me?
