Consider new "Instrument Tracks", why a track folder? Asked on: 31 Oct 2008
When we insert a synth, two tracks are made - MIDI and Audio. There are placed in a track folder. What purpose does the track folder serve if we are going to use instrument tracks? (FYI, you can't right click on the folder to "Make Instrument Track", has to be done on either the MIDI or Audio track.)

Why can't you click a track-folder and mute all tracks? Asked on: 17 Nov 2008
The title says it all. I want to mute all tracks in a folder. I tried clicking the Blue Triangle on the track folder, and then yellow track selector icon thing and then clicking MUTE. But neither thing will mute all the tracks in the folder. Is there some other way to do this? Sonar 8.01 // XP 64

Do Special Ops guys have lots of Tracking, or Tracking+Technique? Asked on: 23 Sep 2008
Clearly a lot of Special Ops templates ought to have 1 CP in Tracking. But beyond that, should they have more levels of full-blown Tracking skill, or should they have one (or two) Average Technique(s) to represent that which Special Ops guys usually do with their Tracking skill? (Which is what, by the way? Concealing your own tracks, learned as part of a SERE programme?)

1/2 track tape played on a 1/4 track deck-What am I really getting? Asked on: 12 Dec 2008
I just played a tape that I assumed was 1/4 track but it turned out to be half track. It sounded well. But I have seen the pictures of the specs for 1/4 track and 1/2 track What did I really get? Nice Latin Big Band Jazz by Wilie Rodriguez and the Gang on Cook. But side two was avant garde Jazz:-) Abbedd

Goat Track Becomes Skin Track? Asked on: 21 Dec 2008
Yesterday near Baker Marmot drainage area. It was a bitter cold day and I noticed an unusual skin track, although the track appeared to be a desperate descent it also worked out well for a skin track. Thankyou Goat or whatever you might have been. It's always nice when you can poach an animal track there's more value in poaching the animal track than the animal itself.

Option to hide tracks in track-view? Asked on: 26 Nov 2007
I'd really like a feature that allows me to either hide any track I choose from the track view, or to insert mixer-only tracks. I like to keep things tidy in a project, and I'd prefer it if tracks such as sends, which get routed to the master, only showed up in the mixer (imo where they belong). I'd much rather have only instruments and audio channels for which I record and arrange parts show up in the tracks-view, with the fx-sends sitting in the mixer where they're not cluttering up my workspa...

Divide Track List - is there an easy way to move tracks? Asked on: 13 Apr 2007
I like the new feature of the (-) to divide the track list in the project view into two windows. Sure would be nice if you could just drag and drop a track between windows.... maybe a future release? You know click on the track, hold down the mouse button, move it to the upper or lower area and release. I also looked for the "Toggle Track List" in the key commands but there doesn't look like it is there. All I can see about it is on page 42 of the manual. Would be nice if there was at least a ke...

"select next/previous track" "rec enable track" key command? Asked on: 22 Apr 2008
Do these exist in PT? When tracking a vocalist and layering stacks up to 10 tracks per harmony part (gives a nice [natural] stereo spread) - I would like to refrain from using the mouse - but the only way I can see to select a track and or record enable a track is to use the mouse. Am I overlooking something or is this not possible. I work primarily in Nuendo, and I have it setup to record enable a track when selecting it (during tracking only of course) - I set punch points hit play, down arrow...

Can I combine L and R separate tracks into 1 stereo track? Asked on: 19 Dec 2008
I accidentally recorded some keys and used the L and R as separate mono tracks instead of combining them as a 1-2 input single stereo track- is there way of combining them after the fact? still learning oops- j

Hi, I tried searching this for a while, no luck. I'm using the Emu 1820M system with CEP2 and AA1.5, on XP Pro. No problems in four years, except this: I wanted to add some synth parts from an Access Virus synthesizer to an existing stereo track. I placed the stereo track in track 1, multitrack view, then set up another track to record the external hardware synth. The result on playback was that the original stereo track was audible in the background of the newly added synth track. How does one...
