Tivo HD to Tivo HD speeds increased?

I got the service update and have just noticed a couple of things about the Tivo transfer speeds.
Both Tivo HD units. Both never upgraded with original hard drives.
One of my wired LAN, one using a Tivo wireless adapter.
When I transferred a show last night, I logged into my router and saw the show transferring from the wired one to the wireless one at 24mb/s.
When I transferred the same show from the wireless one to the wired one, I was getting 18.0mb/s.

Humax DVD Tivo dying! Tivo DVD unit availability?

All,
I have a Humax DVD Tivo (in addition to 3 others!) that is dying. We absolutely love the combination unit (DVD + Tivo) but Tivo doesn't seem to be offering any units like this anymore. Am I missing them?
I could potentially replace the fan and hard drive (both of which are beginning to make noise), but I fear that the unit may end up dying shortly anyway.
Any suggestions on replacement options?

Will Tivo-to-Go Work with Tivo HD?

Hello Everyone,
Just read about the new Tivo-to-Go available as part of the new Toast. The price is steep, but I'm thinking about biting the bullet and buying this.
However, I wanted to ask whether any of you knew if this product would work with my Tivo Series 3 hi def recorder. I have a sinking feeling it will not. . .

should I buy a TiVo HD XL or TiVo HD & upgrade?

I've decided to give the horrible Verizon-provided DVR the boot and get a TiVo (maybe even 2). I'm a little torn between the option of buying the XL model and buying the cheaper model to upgrade.
I don't really see a big difference between the 2 and am not at all shy about cracking open the case to swap out the HD. Am I missing something?

tivo with VLC?

I see that tylib.dll now ships with VLC. How is this used with a TIVO? I tried using a tivo://xxx url to my tivo running vstream but it didn't recognize that.
Everyone points to the year-old web page for tivo-vlc, but the modules there obviously won't run on any recent VLC. I noticed that page has an old plugin library file for vstream as well as the tylib.dll. Is there some source for the vstream library that I can compile?

Think DirecTV or TiVo Will Provide Upgrade for Current HD TIVO's?

Not sure if this should be posted here or in the HD Tivo forum, but when the new DirecTV Tivos come out next year, do you think the current HD Tivo's will be compatible with DirecTV? Maybe through some sort of download? Or is it a hardware issue? We just got our HD Tivo within the last 6 months (we currently only use antenna) and are now considering getting cable or satellite. Would prefer DirecTV but then we can't use our brand new Tivo! Will probably go with cable but was wondering what others...

If I reset my Tivo will that remove the activation?

I have two different Tivos and I want to be able to watch the shows i've recorded on one tivo on the other one. But I have one of the tivo on a subscription that I pay for and the other tivo I bought online and am still finishing the 3 year subscription on it. If i reset the tivo will it also remove the subscription so I can put it on my bill?

TOAST 8.0.3 TiVo Transfers a PURE FRAUD?

I purchased Toast 8 software for Tivo Transfers. I am seeing at least 2 users including me unable to enable Tivo Transfers for Mac. I am running a MacBook with Leopard with all the latest updates.
There was no indication that Toast and Tivo Transfers are incompatible with Leopard.

k so i have this recording from my tivo that i successfully transfered to my pc....but its stuck in a .tivo file...im looking for a way to get the video file inside that .tivo file....if anyone has any ideas id appreciate it.
