Why Aikido trains techniques without opposing to them?

Why Aikido people when practicing stay relaxed and let the opponent do the techniques without opposition? What happens when you need to use the techniques in the streets?

How to learn newest swimming techniques?
I learned to swim long time ago
and I was taught how to swim the old fashion (crawl: breathing at the end of the stroke, head 45 degree to the front, S shaped stroke, etc.)
However, I see Olympians swimming totally different
There are so many changes in the way to swim each stroke and I would like to take advantage of these techniques but I dont know where to learn the new way?

Whenever someone starts discussing WC (/WT/VT) techniques, someone comes back saying that Wing Chun doesn't have techniques -rather principles. As such, 'what' WC is becomes somewhat indistinct -like "catching smoke". This is very convenient as it can counter almost any criticism of WC as a system.

Know of meditation techniques to increase focus?

Salam,
This is my favorite forum because of the diversity and the knowledge of the members. So here's a question: Do you know of any meditation techniques to increase mental concentration and focus? I am thinking maybe yogic or Buddhist meditation techniques.
In recent days, I have noticed that my concentration has been constantly shifting when trying to read books. I don't want to be on heavy meds for ADD if I can solve it with meditation techniques.

Lucid techniques to attain lucidity?

Is it really neccessary to techniques such as dilds, wilds or others to get into a lucid dream? I would really like to try some of these techniques but i am unable to because it takes me so long to go to sleep. I don't go to sleep til around between 2 and 3 am.
