How to copy tape to tape?

Im just trying find out how I can copy tape to tape on Backup Exec 12. I figure it shouldn't be that hard because I have two tape drives but I'm not sure. I know I can do a restore and then just copy the information to another tape but is there any other way I can do this?

Is my tape deck out of adjustment or do old prerecorded tapes just sound ...

Hi folks.
I bought an old NAD 6240 tape deck of ebay to play some of my wife's
old tapes from the 80s, just for fun. The sound quality is rather poor
- bass is muddy and treble is kind of muffled. Is my tape deck in need
of serious adjustment, or is this the best that can be expected from
old prerecorded tapes? The system sounds fine with other sources - CD,
tuner and phono.

Stitch 'n' Glue: 3" Tape vs 2x2" Tape?

Hi All,
Now I've searched the archives, but I haven't been able to find the answer to this question.
I've just started building my first boat. A Dudley Dix Argie 10. It's hard chine Stitch 'n' Glue. I'm trying to determine how to tape the seams. Most of the answers to this question talk about filletting and application of the tape, and even a really good thread on how to get rid of the raised edge of the tape.
My question is whether to apply two layers of 2" tape, overlapping by 1" in the middle...

When I load new tapes and scratch tapes why do they now go into the catalog...

Just as the subject reads, im having an issue when our offsite tapes and new tapes are loaded into the SL500, the next time Netbackup runs its inventory the tapes are placed into the Netbackup Catalog pool. They should go to the scratch pool and our main pool. A little background: We are on 6.5 now for about a month. I noticed this problem when backups failed due to having no media available. Maser server is on Solaris 9. A currently have an open case with Symantec working on getting NOM to run...

Muffled sound gets better- Tape or tape recorder?

Hi All
I've got a Philips EL3542 reel to reel and have been buying original pre-recorded tapes for it, some play at 3 3/4 some at 7 1/2 ips (stereo) from the US.
The 7 1/2 sound amazing (played thru my hi-fi amp). However the 3 3/4 are very hit and miss. UK tapes (Beatles) are of varying quality but consistent all the way through (thoug a bit wowy). But I've got a couple from the US (Led Zep) where the quality suddenly gets really good after sounding muffled for a while and some wow and flutter....

Disk to Disk To Tape - Can you restore individual files directly from Tape...

Hello,
I recently set up a disk-to-disk backup that runs well. I have learned to ignore the IMG folders that apparently are an important part of the disk-to-disk. I then set up a second backup job that backs up the content of the disk-to-disk folder to tape.
That process works as well. However when I try to do a restore from tape I can only restore the backup file, I cannot expand the backup file without restoring the whole thing.
Any thoughts?

Housewrap, to tape or not to tape?

So what is the proper procedure in wrapping a house? The house I'm in is covered really thin plywood sheathing that appears to be growing mold then vinyl siding directly over that no wrap at all. During my first bedroom reno, I had to pull the window out to get it repaired because of a broken pane so seeing all the problems getting the window out I pretty well replaced the entire exterior wall with new 3/8th's OSB and house wrap. full tape sizes for different tapes are different...why?

I'm using bpmedialist to check the size of a full tape and confused about the max amount of data the tape can hold before Netbackup marks it full..
