reversible=lossless? lossless=reversible?
Asked on: 04 Dec 2008
Hi. For years and years I thought I knew what lossless and reversible means and that one presupposes the other.
But all of a sudden, a doubt crossed my mind ....
.... let's take an example. Is the conversion from a lossy format (like mp3) to a losless format (like wav) losless ? I always thought it would be so. But ...
... it is not reversible. Once I have the .wav file, I won't be able to "undo" the process, i.e. to re-calculate the mp3 file.
... what's your take on this?

Planetes reversible covers?
Asked on: 07 Apr 2006
I just picked up Planetes volume 1, and was suprised to find that the cover was not reversible. I thought that Madman was going to do rating-less reversible covers for all their series.
What's up with that?

Does your pram have a reversible handle?
Asked on: 20 Aug 2008
I'm currently researching prams and there is one paticular one I like that does not have a reversible handle. I think I would like to be able to look at the baby when we are out shopping or walking - especially when it is a newborn. Is it really important to have a revearsible handle?

Smoking - is the damage reversible?
Asked on: 23 Dec 2008
this is a a one-question "interview," albeit an old one from July 2008, done with the chief medical officer from the american lung association. when asked whether the body heals fully after quitting smoking, he gives a good run down of what happens when you quit, if you have COPD, lung cancer, etc.
what i found most interesting is that he introduces the concept of "pack-years" (can be calculated by multiplying the average number of packs of cigarettes smoked a day by the number of years one has...

Bootcamp Partitioning: Reversible?
Asked on: 22 Oct 2006
Hello,
I've just got a Mac Pro, and only have the stock HD at the moment. Over the next few weeks I'll be adding a 300Gb HD for media, and a smaller HD for BootCamp. I'd love to get a windows install up and running soon, but if I can't then realloate it back to the main volume, I'll wait. Any ideas?

autism reversible?

Our children are experiencing epidemics of ADD/ADHD, Asperger's, PDD-NOS, and Autism.
We believe these neurological disorders ("NDs") are environmental illnesses caused by an overload of heavy metals, live viruses, and bacteria. Proper treatment of our children, known as "biomedical intervention", is leading to recovery for thousands.
The cause of this epidemic of NDs is extremely controversial. We believe the primary causes inc...

Reversible vasectomy reversals? I mean, success?
Asked on: 07 Oct 2004
That old, "oh, in a year or two" is finally catching up, as I looked at the calendar last week and realized that I'm going to be 34 in January. Whoops! I FORGOT TO HAVE A BABY. (*gasp*) So while I don't feel ready in some ways, and our finances could be better off (not in debt or anything though, and we do have insurance), it's time to tighten up them panties and do what needs to be done.
Hurdle: back in the days before I knew Mr Ursula, he got his tube tied. (Silly, silly man.) This was a "reve...

1st Pattern Reversible Parkas -- Heer and WSS use?
Asked on: 30 Dec 2008
Have a few questions about the reversible hooded parka developed by the army prior to the 1942/43 winter with "field grey" on one side and white on the other.
1. The WSS used the same parka early on (before its own camo versions came on line and alongside the long, fur-lined anorak). QUESTION: Did the WSS manufacture their own grey/white reversible parkas in their own system (as they did so many other garments, including later camo-reversible parkas) according to the Heer design, or did they sim...

Toyo-Omega 45F - Reversible back?
Asked on: 14 Dec 2004
I'm so impressed with the rapid responses of this forum. How great!
I'm considering purchasing a Toyo-Omega 45F to photograph artwork. Does this camera have a vertical / horizontal reversible back? (Forgot to ask seller and decided to ask here!)
Also - I believe the 45F has removable bellows, but what else sets the 45F apart from the 45E or other Toyo-Omegas from same time period?
thank you so much.
