Remote Control Lanterns - Current Draw of Remote Circuit?
Asked on: 14 Aug 2008
Remote Control Lanterns - Current Draw of Remote Circuit? There are a variety of remote controlled lanterns available from LLBean, Coleman, Egear, etc. How much current does the remote control circuit use when the lantern is not on (standby)? Anyone know? I realize the lantern can be turned completely off as well, using 0 power.

Remote Question - 4000, Dish Remote?
Asked on: 10 Apr 2006
Hi everyone! New to the forums, hope you can answer me question!
I have an old 4000 reciever (yea I know, time to upgrade) and I bought a DISH NETWORK UHF PRO 8.0 REMOTE CONTROL off of ebay ... but i don't think it works.
I thought it would work since it's a UHF remote - and I know you need to have a UHF remote for the 4000.
Anybody can confirm that it wont work?
Thanks!

Is Microsoft's MCE Remote the only remote that works in XBMC Live?
Asked on: 20 Sep 2008
Hi Guys,
I have to admit I'm totally new to XBMC but have spent the last 2 days catching up.
I've used Media Centre streamers for years but hate the interfaces and frankly XBMC looks sweet. But I continued using my 360 because of the speed and I didn't want the complication of messing with an old Xbox, but now I see Live it intrigues me.
So I'm thinking of setting up an EEE PC running XBMC Live for quicker boot ups and without the drag of Windows.
Can I get a PS3 Bluetooth remote to works with i...

Remote Rescue - PXE, SSH, and a remote console?
Asked on: 30 Oct 2008
Hi,
I've got a Linux server at my parent's house. It had some hardware troubles
and I shipped them a new computer and asked them to move the hard drive
over. That worked out great, except now Fedora 8 won't boot. I think I know
why (I think I need to rebuild my initrd), but how can I do that from
remote? Unfortunately, due to time zone issues, I can't talk with my parents
directly, just via e-mail. This has led to some really slow reboot cycles...
They put in a live cd, configure the box for rem...

There is a "Remote Administration" exception for the Vista firewall, along with Remote Desktop and Remote Assistance.
I know what the latter two are for, but what is Remote Administration for?

Writing Remote Application with Robot Class?
Asked on: 23 Oct 2008
Hi
i want to write a Remote Appliation for obile Devices, to remote use the PC, MAc and Linux. Using JAva makes this so easy.
But i have a question: Is Robot the Right way?
I already used Robot in some simple remote applications, and it worked really well, keyboard and mouse emulation.
Well now i want to make the next stop and do it commercially.
There are some questions left: As i cant simulate holding a Key for example Holding Down as Scrolling, i want to implement the following:

FOXSAT-HDR remote - will it switch the TV on as well?
Asked on: 07 Nov 2008
One of the really convenient things about the Sky remote control is that it will control the telly too - so I only need to find one remote control to get going...
Will the new FOXSAT-HDR remote control do the same, or will I have to fumble about for two remote controls?
