The Presbyterian Church?   Asked on: 01 May 2006
Is anybody here a Presbyterian??? It is my understanding that Presbyterianism is an offshoot of Calvinism. A few years ago, the Presbyterian church split into a liberal branch (USA) and a conservative branch (PCA). Any views on either one???

Presbyterian church meeting at Randall Elementary?   Asked on: 12 Nov 2008
Is this legal? Seriously? I received a postcard in the mail today, informing me that Randall Elementary (public school) is the new place of worship for Lake Trails Presbyterian Church. I'm not versed in constitutional law so am hoping someone here can tell me how this is possible. When I was a kid, even Scouts groups had to meet outside of the public school. This is not to say I'm raving anti-Christian in the slightest. Just surprised by the postcard.

NI Presbyterian mutual society, Short of funds for withdrawal?   Asked on: 20 Nov 2008
Anybody in NI save with them ? Should you be worried? Belfast Telegraph </EM> Wednesday, 12 November 2008 "The credit crunch reached the church today when it was announced the Presbyterian Mutual Society, with assets of some £300 million, was unable to meet massive demand for withdrawals and was stopping repayments to members. a Catholic at a Presbyterian College...any suggestions?   Asked on: 10 Nov 2008
At the college that I am attending, they are very much against Catholicism. Every full-time faculty member has to sign a statement saying they are an "evangelical protestant." A professor recently converted to the Catholic Church and was fired. This is, obviously, a Christian school (affiliated with the Reformed Presbyterian church). However, as fellow Christians, I would think they would encourage Christianity. Catholics on campus have always been looked down upon. There is a Catholic chaplain...

Different types of Presbyterians?   Asked on: 24 Nov 2008
I attend a Reformed Presbyterian Church. As far as I know there aren't any liberal Presbyterian churches in Australia. I understand the PCUSA has become liberal. Are all Presbyterian churches linked? Am I making sense?

Presbyterian Church?   Asked on: 06 Sep 2008
A friend has invited us to attend the contemporary worship service at her church, which is the Presbyterian church in our town. We have many Christian friends who go there, who seem to love it. Both the worship and the Bible study seem to be good, from what I've heard. As some of you may remember, we recently left our non-denominational church after it started going very emergent, and we are looking for a new church home. Does anyone have any experience or opinions about the Presbyterian denomin...

Why Presbyterian and Not Pentecostal?   Asked on: 17 Nov 2008
Hello everyone. As you probably could guess, my name is Troy. As a student of Lee University, I have a history assignment that is due this Wednesday. My assignment is to write a one page letter as if I am a Presbyterian, and is a letter to a pentecostal. It is supposed to be a letter that explains my faith tradition as opposed to their faith tradition. The only thing is, I belong to a pentecostal church (in real life) and do not know very much about Presbyterians. This is where you guys and gals...

Why try to be better than the Christ Presbyterian Academy band?   Asked on: 20 Feb 2008
CPA has the best band in Tennessee. Whoever disagrees can come find me and we will have a battle of the bands. Your attempt would be useless though.
