Positive or Positive?
Asked on: 05 Jan 2009
Just been thinking about two similar but different ways of thinking and wanted to get some thoughts about the differences you guys have found between the two.
1) Positive thinking (being optimistic)
It'll be okay
Yes, I can afford this
Sure you'll do great at the job interview
I'm a great guy, I can get a date with that girl
2) Positive statments (in terms of what you can do, not what you cannot do)
Let's warm up - (it's too cold.)
I can meet you tomorrow afternoon - (I can't make it in the morn...

2WW - Does Positive mean Positive?
Asked on: 26 Aug 2004
Hi,
This is probably a silly question, but I'm kind of in shock. Dh and I are in the 2ww of our first IVF (after 5 failed IUIs). Today is 12dpt and I couldn't take it anymore so I bought a hpt. Well, I was in total shock when two lines appeared (First Response) as I have had no symptoms (just my tummy felt a bit funny). False Positive?
Asked on: 10 Nov 2008
A positive is a positive. it is very very unlikely to get a false positive. When i found out i was pregnant, it was so faint that i asked every single one of my friends to double check to make sure. Just wait a few more days and take another one, it will be darker. Congrats!!!

Berlin case: True positive or false positive?
Asked on: 04 Jun 2001
Chuck and I were members of Military Intelligence stationed in Berlin in the fall of 1962 during the Cuban missile crisis. At that time Berlin was the capital of the spy world. Every intelligence service in the world was active there, particularly the Soviet KGB & GRU, and the East German MfS. Before the wall was built, the Soviets occasionally kidnapped people off the streets of West Berlin and sped them into East Berlin for interrogation or imprisonment. Everybody in our unit was strictly...

Isn't it Better to Save Up Positive Feedback?
Asked on: 04 Feb 2008
Isn't it better to save up positive feedback?
If I give positive feedback with the frequency that Mark's suggests I think it makes the feedback less meaningful.
My guess is a lot of mangers feel this way.
If my standards for giving an "atta boy" are high than my directs will feel even better when they do get positive feedback.
Do you agree?
